NEW MISSION Act - Urgent Care Information

Construction Updates:

The second phase of the Canandaigua CARES Major Construction Project was officially awarded to the Hueber-Breuer Construction and Pike Company Joint Venture on October 23, 2019 for $176 million dollars.  This project will construct 8 community living center (CLC) houses to facilitate new living environments for long term care Veterans on campus.  The project will also construct a community building for residents.  Additionally, building 9 will be renovated to support new food and nutrition services and domiciliary care.  The work will begin in 2020 and will include the demolition of buildings 33 and 34 to make space for the new CLC houses.

The roadway loop around the Canandaigua VA Medical Center is closed from Building 18 to Building 36.

We appreciate everyone’s patience and support as we work to revitalize the Canandaigua VA Medical Center.

Center of Excellence for Suicide Prevention (NY/NJ VA Health Care Network) and the affiliated University of Rochester Center for the Study and Prevention of Suicide (UR-CSPS) are recruiting physicians and doctoral level allied health professionals for an Advanced Fellowship in Veterans Mental Health and Suicide Prevention. The program is sponsored by the Office of Academic Affiliations, VA Central Office. The program offers opportunities for advanced training and professional development in mental health research and treatment, working specifically with populations of Veterans at risk for suicide.  For more information visit New York/New Jersey VA Health Care Network Center of Excellence for Suicide Prevention or call Stephanie Gamble, PhD, at (585) 369-7320.
