2011 New York Organization of Nurse Executives Best Practice Award

 

Nina Mottern, RN, BSN, CCM and Patricia Lind, RN, MS received the 2011 New York Organization of Nurse Executives Best Practice Award for the Canandaigua VA Medical Center’s Mobile Adult Day Care program.  This program was recognized for its innovation and Veteran-centric interventions to help Veterans remain living in their homes and communities, forestalling institutionalization. 

To date, more than 60 Veterans are part of the programs located in American Legion Posts in Greece, Webster, Penn Yan and Waterloo.  Veterans and their families are enthusiastic supporters of the Mobile Adult Day Care program which provides recreation, community focused activities and linkages to VA services.
