On Thursday, January 15, March 19 and May 21 the Brighton Police Department will be at the Rochester VA Outpatient Clinic (ROPC) to collect pharmaceutical waste for proper destruction. An officer will be in the lobby from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on these days to collect the following:

1) Controlled substances

2) Non-controlled, non-hazardous substances

3) Over-the-counter medications and nutritional supplements

4) Hazardous waste pharmaceuticals

5) Inhalers.

Proper destruction of pharmaceuticals prevents contamination of waterways and also can reduce the risk of medication misuse.

If you have any questions please contact Michelle Gerwig at (585) 463-2600 ext. 32553.

Rochester VA Outpatient Clinic is located at 465 Westfall Road, Rochester, NY 14620.
