Gerofit Team presented Certificate of Appreciation
Veterans participating in “Gerofit” can improve their overall health, have fun exercising, meet new friends and comrades, lose weight and boost energy.
On August 11, the Canandaigua VAMC Gerofit Team was presented a Certificate of Appreciation from Lucille B. Beck, PHD, Deputy Chief Patient Care Services Officer, Rehabilitation & Prosthetic Services and Richard M. Allman, MD, Chief Consultant Geriatrics & Extended Care Services.

“Gerofit” is a supervised exercise program for eligible Veterans.
The program encourages physical activity, shows how to reduce the risk of falls, and improves the ability to move and be active.
· Group exercise classes
· Strength training
· Balance exercises
· Flexibility exercises
· Cardio heart fitness
Each participant in the program has an individualized exercise prescription and workout routine, based on their medical history, exercise status, physical limitations, goals, and personal likes and dislikes.
