On Thursday, January 15th, March 19th and May 21st the Brighton Police Department will be at the Rochester VA Outpatient Clinic (ROPC) to collect pharmaceutical waste for proper destruction. An officer will be in the lobby from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. to collect the following:

1) Controlled substances
2) Non-controlled, non-hazardous substances
3) Over-the-counter medications and nutritional supplements
4) Hazardous waste pharmaceuticals
5) Inhalers.

Proper destruction of pharmaceuticals prevents contamination of waterways and also can reduce the risk of medication misuse.
