The Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Lodge 1249 in Newark, NY identified the needs of Homeless Veterans and Veterans in need of the bare essentials, as a group of Veterans that deserved their full attention and assistance.

On November 20, 2018 the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Lodge 1249 delivered over $1,480 worth of household items for use by the Homeless Veterans Program from a grant they secured from their National Organization.  The donation included 20 sets of bedding, 10 sets of cookware and trash cans, 20 carpet sweepers, and 17 coffee pots.  Their generous donations filled the Voluntary Service office.

Steve Townsend, a Lodge 1249 Trustee,  stated  “We honor and support all Veterans and appreciate those who assist them with their needs. We hope this helps make a few local Veterans lives just a little better.”
