2015 “VA2K Walk & Roll”
“VA2K Walk & Roll” to Support Homeless Veterans and Promote Physical Activity
Approximately 170 VA2K events taking place at VA facilities across the country
On May 20th, the Canandaigua VA and Rochester VA Clinic will host the annual “VA2K Walk & Roll”. The event is to encourage healthy activity while supporting the local VA Homeless Veterans Program with donated items.
The VA2K Walk & Roll is free and open to the general public and will be held at the following locations from 11am-1pm:
• Canandaigua VAMC - 400 Fort Hill Avenue, Canandaigua, N.Y. 14424, Courtyard 1
• ROPC - 465 Westfall Road, Rochester, N.Y. 14620.
Pre-registration is not required to those interested in participating and is open to people of all fitness levels and can be done over a lunch break.
In the event of inclement weather, the Canandaigua VA2K will be held in its connected tunnel. The ROPC event will be postponed until May 21.
In conjunction with the event, Volunteer Service representatives will be accepting gifts and donations to be used by our local Homeless Veterans program. Donations can include toiletries, denture cream, shaving cream & razors, linens, towels, kitchen utensils, pillows, air mattresses and curtains (new/unused items only please). However, there is no requirement for a donation in order to participate
